It is hard to believe that we are already almost at Mid-November. It has been a wonderful start up here at Katarokwi Learning Centre. We have welcomed many new and returning students who are working hard as they continue on their education journey.
Many congratulations to our students in Transitions and KLC Junior who have finished their first credit of the year and worked through a final exam as well as writing the OSSLT in November.
We are also thrilled to see the progress all our other students are making towards their goals as many credits have already been earned in our Core program and we have had 5 graduates already this year.
Elementary families will be receiving their Progress Reports on November 13th to provide updates on student learning to date. Families of students in our Secondary Programs (KLC Jr, Transitions, River) will be receiving their Term 1 report cards as well on November 20th.
Please remember as Winter seems to have arrived to monitor Triboard for all bus delays and cancellations. We have also seen cancellations of partial routes (morning or afternoon only) over the last couple of weeks as well. You might want to consider signing up for alerts from Triboard either through email or their App. More information on cancellation alerts is available here.

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall.
The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Important information for families:
- The survey is optional.
- Responses are confidential and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
- Students will complete the survey during class time.
- Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.
By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.

Human Development and Sexual Health Curriculum for Elementary Students
As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8. Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform parents/guardians when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure 325: Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.
